I can NEVER speak with anyone at American Alarm. Either I have to leave a message and no one replies or it's a continual busy signal. I would advise using another alarm company.

Today Mr. Austin Crowley came to my door to offer me an alarm system for advertising their company. I checked them out on the BBB website & they have 87 complaints and a rating of C. Most of their complaints are for billing, collections, contract issues, & sales practices, but they have an entire array of complaints really. I was told by Mr. Crowley that they would give me an alarm system without the activation fee, or installation fee & that they were doing only 4 alarm systems in the area like this for advertisement purposes. He told me that the only thing I would have to worry about would be the monthly fee of $34 for monitoring.

To be honest this all sounded good & great to me even after I read the BBB report. I called Mr. Crowley back & spoke with him, he reassured me to check yahoo local for good reviews.

So here I am. I looked at all of the reviews. Some of the reviews are legit closer to the beginning... but as I got closer to present day I noticed that all of the positive reviews have the same grammatical errors & all take place within a months time. Meaning: they are fake! Totally fake! Any company that would stoop to this level is not worth doing business with.

Not only that, but Mr. Crowley told me that he was an off-duty police officer with the Chandler Police Dept. & that he had a German Shepherd that was his work dog. I asked him if the dog was taught in German, he told me that the dog was not, that he was taught in English. This is highly unusual. Police dogs are more often than not taught commands in either German or Dutch, so that only they can handle the dog.

Knowing this, I was suspicious that Mr. Crowley was not who he let on to be. So, I contacted the Chandler Police Department directly & asked if there was an officer by the name Austin Crowley. There was not.

Needless to say, I will not be doing business with American Alarm Company.
