Horrible School - find something better
My son was in the 1 year old room at this school for about 9 months. At first it was pretty good but after the teacher left it gradually got worse and worse until I actually felt sick sending my son there. There was no consistency in the classroom and when teachers changed, the conditions in the classroom (such as cleanliness) also changed. I would constantly drop my son off in the morning and find soured milk in the kids' cups from the day before. The last teacher right before we left didn't even seem to like children and complained to me, a parent, all the time about having to hold one little boy who I later found out had experienced some terrible things and clearly needed just a little bit of comfort. She would also do all of their art projects for them and every time I came to the classroom (I came at a variety of times), she was sitting there watching them play instead of being actively involved with them. There was no curriculum at all and the teacher in the morning would give them cookies and candy for a snack before breakfast. One time I came to pick my son up and I heard the teacher yell "what?" in a very mean tone to one kid for trying to get her attention while she was vacuuming. The director was standing right in front of me and didn't seem to care at all. I also had one teacher who chose to tell me all about the many problems in her life when I would drop my son off in the morning. Oh, and when your kids were sick, they wouldn't call you. I picked my son up one day and he clearly had pink eye but no one had bothered to contact me and ask me to take him out of the class until he was on antibiotics. My son hated going here in the morning and was always ready to go at the end of the day. All in all, I felt that they were unprofessional, not focused on the kids, lacking in consistent policies, not a nurturing environment, and did not communicate with parents. I was never so glad to leave somewhere in my life.
