I rented a car for a week, told them specifically when I would be back even including my return flight number. It was 5 days and a few hours after pickup. The clerk entered it into the computer as 5 days instead of a week and I didn??????t notice because the price was the same. When I dropped it off I was charged for an extra day despite the fact that the rules call a ??????week?????? 5-7 days. When I complained the clerk told me that they couldn??????t make that sort of change even though it was an obvious data entry error when I picked up the car and that I was should have noticed this at the time. Whatever is on the contract is how it goes. Probably so, and I??????ll be looking for this bit of fine print next time I pick up a car somewhere else. The return guy even told me that in Payless lingo a 'week' is 5 days so 6 days would be a week and a day. Gosh, how could I not know that?
At least the line was short, which is what first suckered me in. Apparently others have learned to avoid these folks. Silly me. I sure won't be in it again.
